Defenders of the Light
There are people whose presence is like a quiet place where the world becomes quieter for a moment.
Not because they can protect us from everything, but because in their presence we feel that we don’t have to carry everything on our own. Sometimes a partner is just such a person: a silent strength, a protective closeness, a home for the soul.
In this painting, the partner becomes the tree. His body becomes the trunk – rooted and supportive. Their arms become branches that gently wrap around the other. Not to hold him, but to give him the space he needs to feel safe and be able to maintain his own light. Because protection and freedom do not exclude each other. Those who truly love do not cling too tightly – they offer support.
And perhaps this is the most beautiful form of partnership: One side provides security, the other can develop within it – and both remain free to be themselves.
